2005-02-01 Fibrenetix Open New European R&D Facility in EIRE West Sussex, UK – 1 February 2005 – FIBRENETIX, a leading provider of enterprise class data storage subsystems, today announce company expansion, with a new Technology Centre in Dublin, Ireland. The new Dublin centre will be headed by Mark O’Shea and Peter Shortall, who are both former Eurologic engineers and join Fibrenetix with more than 20 years of experience in the storage industry.
Jes Nagel, Fibrenetix MD says, “R&D is fundamental to our growth plan and we’re very pleased to have two engineers as highly skilled as Mark and Peter join our team.” Mr Nagel continues, “Fibrenetix is recognised as a pioneer of IDE and SATA RAID technology and from day one, product and technology innovation has been the corner stone of our strategy. The new R&D and test facility in Ireland will add further strength to our plans. Ireland has been an established base for a number of successful companies in the Storage Industry, so it was natural for us to open our R&D centre in Dublin, where we can benefit from a wealth of technology, experience and skills.”
The Dublin Technology Centre has forged ahead with the development of Fibrenetix brand new range of high-end Enterprise RAID systems, due to launch during Q2-05. Borja Rosales, Fibrenetix Technical Director comments, “We expect to see a major boost in market share this year with our Enterprise and Desktop RAID products. To support our increased level of business, we have recently finalised a major upgrade of our factory assembly lines in San Sebastian, Spain, increasing production by 300 percent.”
